January 28, 2017

Kathmandu, Jan 28: Nepali Congress leader Prakashman Singh has said that the constitution amendment proposal was brought to address genuine demands of Madhes.
At a programme organised by Nepali Congress Nagarjun Town Committee here today, leader Singh said that there was no alternative for all political parties to come together as the constitution amendment proposal was brought to address the demands of Madhes-based parties.
He also stressed the need of moving ahead by announcing the date of three-tiers elections immediately as all achievement gained so far would be lost if the election was not held by amending the constitution.
The NC leader said, “Constitution was promulgated on a consensus between NC, CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre). So let’s move ahead by amending the constitution at consensus of these parties.”He clarified that the NC was ready to play any role to save the nation, saying constitution implementation was the main responsibility of the NC.
