‘NC faced defeat in Kathmandu due to non-cooperation from within the party’

June 12, 2017

Kathmandu, June 12: Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party faced defeat in the mayoral election in Kathmandu due to the non-cooperation from within the party itself.
Addressing a programme organized to thank the voters of Kathmandu Metropolitan City here today, he said although there was big public support for the party, it was unfortunate and regrettable that there was betrayal from within the party.
“The time has come to look into the causes of the Kathmandu Congress losing the election,” leader Singh said, adding that it is about time all the NC leaders and cadres to think over why the Congress which had won in eight election constituencies in Kathmandu in the second Constituent Assembly election faced defeat now.
He underscored the need for the Nepali Congress to accommodate all the parties in the implementation of the constitution.
Party central committee member Nabindra Raj Joshi also said time has come to review the defeat that the party faced despite huge public support. “When the deputy mayor candidate of the party has won, why has the mayoral candidate lost with huge vote margin? This needs to be thoroughly looked into,” he said.
Mayoral candidate Raju Raj Joshi thanked all the voters who voted for him in the local level election on May 14. RSS
