Constitution amendment proposal before Dashain


Kathmandu, Sept 27: The government is to forward constitution amendment process soon to address the demands of political parties based in the Tarai-Madhes, who are expressing dissatisfaction over some provisions in the new constitution. During a meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Tuesday, the government and Madhesi Morcha leaders agreed to forward the constitution amendment process before Dashain. After the meeting, Chakrapani Khanal, Chief Advisor of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said that the meeting with Madhesi Morcha was positive and an understanding was reached to forward the constitution process soon. "An understanding was reached to forward the constitution amendment process before Dashain after holding discussion with CPN (UML) in this regard," he said. Similarly, Chairman of Sadbhawana Party, Rajendra Mahato, said that they held discussion with Prime Minister Dahal on why the three-point proposal was not registered and when it would be implemented.
